Relationship with Daisuke & Ken
Taichi is one of the original Chosen Children and Daisuke’s senpai from the soccer club. He acts as a mentor to him in both soccer and matters of the Digital World, and made him his successor and the new official leader of the Chosen Children in 02 when he gave him his iconic pair of goggles. He is not shown to interact much with Ken post-Kaiser, but while he was the Kaiser he had to face off against him to save his partner Agumon when he was kidnapped.

“The One Who Inherits Courage,” 02 #1: Taichi gives Daisuke his goggles when Daisuke’s break. This is also the episode where Daisuke inherits Taichi’s crest in the form of the Digimental of Courage.
“The Evil Ringβs Rampaging Magic,” “The Enemy is MetalGreymon,” and “Blue Thunder, Lighdramon,” 02 #9-11: Taichi’s partner Agumon is captured by Ken as the Digimon Kaiser and forced to dark evolve first into SkullGreymon and then MetalGreymon (Virus). Daisuke has to learn that sometimes you have to fight your friends to save them and liberates Agumon with the help of V-mon’s new evolution, Lighdramon.
“All Sally Out! Imperialdramon!,” 02 #39: When the group is meeting up at Koushirou’s apartment, Daisuke insists on going to Tamachi to rescue Ken. Taichi insists there are more people than just Ken, but he relents when Daisuke insists Ken is his partner, his nakama.

Relationship with Daisuke & Ken
Yamato is one of the original Chosen Children and Daisuke and Ken’s senpai. He sometimes butts heads with Daisuke, who can be headstrong and impolite (much like his own best-friend-and-rival, Taichi), but ultimately Daisuke respects him deeply as a mentor and comrade. Together Yamato and Taichi help him understand friendship, and Daisuke inherits his crest when he finds the Digimental of Friendship. He seems to be on good terms with the reformed Ken, having no trouble accompanying him to Mexico during the World Tour arc, despite his partner Gabumon having been captured by Ken as the Digimon Kaiser.
Important Moments with Daisuke & Ken
“King of Darkness, Digimon Kaiser,” 02 #4: Yamato’s partner Gabumon is captured by Ken as the Digimon Kaiser and escapes within an inch of his life, then comes back with Yamato, Daisuke and the rest to liberate the rest of the prisoners. Daisuke nearly gets into a fight with Yamato when Yamato threatens him for speaking ill of his sister, Jun, despite her having already belittled him first in front of Yamato.
“Blue Thunder, Lighdramon,” 02 #11: Yamato joins Taichi, Daisuke, and the rest in order to free Agumon from Ken as the Digimon Kaiser’s control. He helps Daisuke learn an important lesson in having to fight your friends to save them, and fights side by side with him and Lighdramon on the back of Garurumon. This is when Daisuke inherits his crest in the form of the Digimental of Friendship.
“Love and Borscht, the Ferocious Battle,” 02 #42: Yamato is paired with Ken to gather the wayward Digimon in Mexico. When the young Chosen Child they meet there instantly begins crushing on Ken, Gabumon remarks that while Yamato is quite handsome and popular, so is Ken!
Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna: Daisuke and Ken, along with Miyako and Iori, call Yamato “senpai” now, and when Yamato has reservations about Menoa Bellucci, he calls on their group to investigate her.

Sora is featured as part of the group in 02 episodes #2, “Digital Gate Open” and #12, “Duel on the Digimon Ranch,” but has no significant interactions with either Daisuke or Ken. Piyomon is seen on the run from the Kaiser in episode #12 but is never shown having a direct confrontation with him.

Relationship with Daisuke & Ken
Koushirou is one of the original Chosen Children and Daisuke and Ken’s friend. As a member of the computer club from which the Chosen Children travel to the digital world in 02, he acts as their “guy in the chair” and imparts his vast knowledge to Daisuke and the group, often even inviting them into his own home to brief them on his various theories and discoveries. He is shown to enjoy Ken’s company, meeting up with him to discuss his experiences in the Digital World with no apparent judgment or resentment toward him, and he is the only OG kid to reach out to Ken in this way.

“Jogress Evolution Now, Two Hearts Become One,” 02 #26: Koushirou speculates that the Crest of Kindness is needed to stop the Kaiser’s old base from catastrophically exploding. When the rest of the group can’t reach him, Koushirou calls Ken’s house to call him to action and Wormmon answers the phone.
“The Unparalleled Union! Paildramon,” 02 #27: Koushirou invites Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, Takeru, and Hikari to his house to explain his findings on Jogress to them after Daisuke and Ken Jogress for the first time. He discovers that the name stands for “Joint Progress” and tells them it has happened before when Taichi and Yamato’s Agumon and Gabumon formed Omegamon during the events of Our War Game.
“Today Miyako Is in Kyoto,” 02 #33: Koushirou is looking after Poromon for Miyako while she is on a class trip to Kyoto. He brings him on a visit to Ken’s house to discuss with him about the nature of the Dark Ocean and the origin of the Dark Towers and D-3s. He speculates that the Dark D-3 was created by Ken’s subconscious wishes, just like the Kaiser’s outfit, and the Digital World created the other D-3’s to keep up with Ken’s.

Though there aren’t technically many interactions between them in the show itself, Mimi is apparently good friends with Daisuke, enough to invite him to visit her in New York in the audio drama, The Door to Summer. She was quick to trust the newly-reformed Ken, believing in him before many of his own team members.

“Sky Knight, Aquilamon,” 02 #25: Mimi’s friends the YukimiBotamon are under attack by a relentless Golemon who wants to flood their city. When the original five 02 Chosen Children can’t stop him on their own, she asks for Ken’s email and asks him for help herself while the rest of the group argues whether or not to do it, seeming unconcerned with his past as the Digimon Kaiser and trusting him to get the job done. When he shows up, she describes him as “a dependable friend,” helping change Miyako’s mind about him.
“New York, Hong Kong Super Melee!,” 02 #40: Mimi is paired with Daisuke to round up the wayward Digimon in New York City during the World Tour arc.
The Door to Summer, Audio Drama: Daisuke goes to visit Mimi in New York City in summer 2003 and meets up with Wallace.

Joe is one of the original Chosen Children and Daisuke and Ken’s senior. As the oldest Chosen Child in the group, Daisuke calls him senpai. He comes to Daisuke and Ken’s aid in the fourth Digimon movie, Diablomon Strikes Back, but otherwise does not really interact with them much onscreen.
Important Moments with Daisuke & Ken
Diablomon Strikes Back: Joe comes to Ken and Daisuke’s aid with a single bicycle to help them reach Rainbow Bridge in time to stop Armagemon. He failed to realize that two guys require two bikes and promptly runs after a girl biking by, asking to borrow hers when Daisuke points out his mistake.
